Welcome, traveler! I’m Brittany Hymes, author, ink-spiller, and founder of Indies & Ink.
I’ve been running away into my own stories for as long as I can remember, and honestly, I never plan on coming back! Writing has always been my secret doorway out of reality. When I first wrote Imprisoned, I was a teen who couldn’t get enough of books like The Hunger Games and Divergent. I wanted to be strong like Katniss, fearless like Tris… so I created Alaster to take those epic adventures for me. She was bold, stubborn, and still figuring herself out, just like I was. Now, I see writing as more than escape. It’s my adventure. When I write, I’m not just imagining bravery, I am brave. I am fearless. So far, I’ve unleashed The Imprisoned Trilogy into the world, but I’m brewing up my next big journey, a fantasy trilogy inspired by the seven deadly sins and bursting with Egyptian vibes. Alaster French lives in the dystopian city of Decireo. Governed by a single leader who believes in overbearing laws and punishment in the form of a ruthless prison they call imprisonment.
After being sent to imprisonment, Alaster must overcome the obstacles of not knowing who to trust and the fear of being sentenced for life or even killed. However, after a false allegation, she in now in the middle of a rebellion and begins to question everything she has ever known.

Alaster has found her life in Decireo is a never ending cycle of the things she once hated. As she begins to questions her new life, she is introduced to haunting images of her past. With danger now surrounding her, Alaster must make decisions that will impact her path.
